'Never Forget Stephen Lawrence'

sees people from across culture, media and politics speaking to the camera about the murdered teenager's life and legacy.

The film, which aims to highlight multicultural voices, ends with a call from Stephen’s mother Baroness Lawrence to "Help us create a legacy of change".

Stephen Lawrence Day was first celebrated in 2019 and takes place annually on April 22, the date of his death.

The 18-year-old was stabbed to death in 1993 in an unprovoked racist attack as he waited at a bus stop in Eltham, south-east London.

A powerful spoken word short film “Never Forget Stephen Lawrence”, featuring more than 50 names from the worlds of film, music, theatre, media, and politics, to launch a national day of remembrance highlighting the day and the tireless work of the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation (SLDF). In Never Forget Stephen Lawrence the contributors are filmed reciting the powerful poem written by Simon Frederick and Marcus Jones. idea for the  film was to bring together the people he felt Stephen would have watched, listened to and been inspired by, had he been alive today, alongside figures who help to promote diversity and inclusion within British society and who have been key champions throughout the Lawrence family’s 28-year fight for justice.
